The Thalassemia Center provides comprehensive care and is the largest program of its type in the U.S.

The Northern California Comprehensive Thalassemia Center (NCCTC) at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland cares for children, adolescents, and adults with beta thalassemia, alpha thalassemia and other thalassemia syndromes. NCCTC was established in 1991 to deliver comprehensive care to the growing number of patients in the region.
