Tariq Ahmad, MD

HS Clinical Professor
Pediatrics

I primarily provide clinical care on both the Oakland and San Ramon campuses for both diabetes and endocrine care. My clinical research is focused on type 1 and type 2 diabetes., though I'm also part of the Northern California Comprehensive Thalassemia Center allowing me to investigate endocrinopathies in this cohort as well. Our UCSF site serves as one of the few centers of excellence for this condition in North America. Since diabetes camps have served as the reason for me pursue pediatric endocrinology, I have been part of the medical staff at summer diabetes camps since 2000. I also play a role in resident and fellow education, and serve as the Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Endocrine Fellowship on the Oakland campus.
